About the Role…

The Frankston City Business and Industry Chamber (BIC) will be the principal not-for-profit business alliance of Frankston City whose mission will be to support the development of an innovative and connected business community. Founded by Frankston City Council, the BIC will expand upon the good work of the previous Frankston Business Network and will support Council’s aim for Frankston to become an epicentre of innovation, growth, industry, modernity and thinking.

The BIC will represent and promote the city’s business and industry interests, produce events and manage a diverse marketing and public relations campaign. As the Frankston business and industry community continues to evolve and reinvent itself, the BIC will advocate for and seek to revitalise the city alongside the innovators who chose to call Frankston home. The BIC will advocate, influence and deliver policies and outcomes to drive economic growth and create opportunities to invest, work, live and visit the city.

What are we looking for?

Frankston City Council seeks to appoint an experienced leader to support the development and establishment of the new Frankston City Business and Industry Chamber, who will have the skills to reach, influence and strengthen the voice of Frankston City’s business and industry community.

You will bring to the role:

  • Strong understanding of Local, State and Federal government environment and the demonstrated ability to effectively navigate the political system to promote policy and advocacy for BIC members
  • Proven experience as a leader and mentor, with ability to effectively engage business leaders
  • Commercial and business savviness, including but not limited to the subject matter areas of health, education, innovation and small business
  • Demonstrable marketing, promotions, public speaking and media engagement and public relations expertise
    Proven ability to effectively and persuasively develop, communicate and implement strategic plans
  • Demonstrable relationship management skills, particularly in a corporate and community environment

  • This position is a Band 7 currently remunerated between $100,139 to $111,644 per annum, plus superannuation

You will need to provide evidence of your right to work in Australia, certified copies of your qualifications, a current Driver Licence and Working with Children Check. You must also be willing to provide a Pre-Employment Health Declaration and undertake a National Police Record Check.
