Main Streets of Australia Week
2023 Events

With more than 2 million small businesses in Australia, and many of these on our main streets, they do an enormous amount for the community. We need to support them so they can continue to:
• provide a huge number of jobs to those that rely on local or flexible work;
• create local spending;
• provide local job opportunities and a training ground for our younger generation;
• support local causes and charities, as well as sporting groups and schools;
• provide a place for the elderly or vulnerable to find their fit in the community;
• build connection and provide safe spaces; and
• allow a huge number of families to stay financially afloat.
May 15 – 21, 2023, Mainstreet Australia invite you to celebrate and support Main Streets of Australia Week, a national campaign celebrating all that main streets and town centres provide to the community, proudly sponsored by Dynamite Printing and Assemblo.
Celebration and support can come in the form of:
- choosing to spend locally, and with small, independent business, whenever you can during this week
- sharing posts or photos on your social media between May 15 – 21 on what it is you love about your main street or town centre including favourite meal, favourite business, architecture you love, a business owner you think is fantastic and more. Make sure to tag #msaustweek
- organising a small campaign, activity or event on your street and listing it on our national listing below or encouraging your local Chamber of Commerce, Council or Business/Trader Association to organise something. Head here for all info on getting involved (and it isn’t too late!), or
- attending or getting involved with a local campaign, activity or event already listed below 🙂
Are you a main street or town centre wanting to get involved in Main Streets of Australia Week? Head here for info.
